The San Francisco 49ers are in the middle of a Super Bowl hunt, but that doesn't mean their fans aren't looking forward to the 2023 NFL Draft. Why wouldn't they? Their team snagged the new Tom Brady, named Brock Purdy, in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

As such, the San Francisco 49ers have 11 total draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. Four of those draft picks are non-compensatory. They are:

  • Round 5
  • Round 5 (Dolphins via Jeff Wilson Jr. trade)
  • Round 7
  • Round 7 (Broncos via Jonas Griffith trade)

While the other seven picks are compensatory. They are:

  • Round 3 (Robert Saleh/Martin Mayhew HC/GM hires)
  • Round 3 (Mike McDaniel HC hire)
  • Round 3 (Ran Carthon GM hire)
  • Round 5 (D.J. Jones to Broncos)
  • Round 6 (Arden Key to Jaguars)
  • Round 7 (Raheem Mostert to Dolphins)
  • Round 7 (K'Waun Williams to Broncos)

That's 11 total draft picks expected for the 49ers.

How are the San Francisco 49ers performing this season?

The San Francisco 49ers are having a typically great 2022 NFL season under the guidance of Kyle Shanahan. His side amassed a 13-4 record for the regular season, securing a high seeding for the playoffs. They were buoyed by solid performances from Brock Purdy, Jimmy Garoppolo, Deebo Samuel, new addition Christian McCaffrey, and solid play from George Kittle.

They rode on the wave of a staggering ten-game winning streak to their wildcard playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks were no match for Purdy and the crew, as they were handily swatted away with a 41-23 scoreline. Their next game is on Monday night against the Dak Prescott-led Dallas Cowboys.

How has Brock Purdy performed this season?

Brock Purdy has been the underdog story of the 2022 NFL season, with the 2022 Draft's "Mr. Irrelevant" leading his side to a Super Bowl challenge.

San Francisco drafted Purdy as the 262nd pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He was drafted out of Iowa State University, where he broke many records.

At the beginning of the season, it looked like Purdy would be consigned to the bench, but the NFL gods had other plans. With an injury to Trey Lance and another to Jimmy Garoppolo later, Purdy became the man at center for the 49ers.

Purdy has a stat line of 1,374 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions in the 2022 regular season.
