Dallas Cowboys v Arizona Cardinals
Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins #10 of the Arizona Cardinals watches from the sidelines during the first half of the NFL preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys at State Farm Stadium on August 13, 2021 in Glendale, Arizona. The Cardinals defeated the Dallas Cowboys 19-16.

DeAndre Hopkins is one of the best wide receivers of his generation, and his resume speaks for itself. With numerous Pro Bowl selections, All-Pro nods, and many 1,000-yard seasons, modern wide receivers don't get more efficient than the Clemson Tigers alum.

However, over the past few seasons, DeAndre Hopkins has become more and more susceptible to injuries and off-field issues. As such, he hasn't been on the Gridiron as much as his teams would like, and his productivity has taken a slight hit.

Hence, should the current Arizona Cardinals' wideout's health be a concern for interested franchises? Kindly keep reading to find out.

Should DeAndre Hopkins' health be a concern for interested teams?

DeAndre Hopkins has suffered at least fifteen recorded injuries in his nine-year NFL career, ranging from cranial head concussion to hand-wrist ligament tear, and even the much-dreaded knee MCL tear grade 3. Hopkins' most protracted injury was a torn MCL in the Arizona Cardinals' loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 NFL season. He missed the rest of the regular season.

These numerous injuries have sapped the elite wideout of some of his trademark speed, which might be why the Cardinals aren't reluctant to let him go. They will likely accept a trade around a first-round pick or a couple of role players.

How did the Arizona Cardinals perform in 2022?

The Arizona Cardinals had a poor 2022 NFL season, in which they missed the postseason despite having significant expectations entering the season. They started the 2022 NFL season with a 2-4 record, with wins against the Las Vegas Raiders and Carolina Panthers and losses against the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Seattle Seahawks.

They then split four games, totaling two wins and two losses against some potential postseason opponents. That was as good as it got, as the Cardinals closed out the season with a dismal seven-game losing streak, a record that earned them an early pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

It is worth noting that the Arizona Cardinals had bad luck with injuries through the 2022 NFL season, as major players like Kyler Murray, Hopkins, and TJ Watt had spells on the sidelines.

These injuries led to a lack of stability on and off the Gridiron, likely contributing to their mediocre form. Cardinals fans will hope that the 2023 NFL season is more forgiving, as the team needs to use their contending window as soon as possible.
