Now that OTAs have started ahead of the 2024 NFL season, fantasy football players across the world can start thinking about which players they want on their squads for the upcoming season. The fantasy football world always brings a shock or two, such as in 2023 when wide receiver Puka Nacua broke out in a big way, with the Rams rookie ending the year as the 12th-highest PPR scoring fantasy football asset, ahead of like likes of Ja'Marr Chase and A.J. Brown. While some of the top five fantasy football scorers from 2023 (Josh Allen, CeeDee Lamb, Christian McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill and Jalen Hurts) are likely to end up in the upper echelons of scoring again, there are sure to be some new names in the top five in 2024.Fantasy Football 2024: Predicting the 5 highest points scorers#5, Justin Jefferson, Minnesota VikingsNFL: Minnesota Vikings at Detroit LionsMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson remains arguably the best in his position in the NFL, and despite losing quarterback Kirk Cousins during the offseason, Jefferson is poised to thrive in the Vikings' offense under rookie QB J.J. McCarthy.Jefferson had an injury-hit 2023 season where he ended the season as the 76th-highest scorer in PPR leagues, but he averaged 20.2 points per game which was more than Puka Nacua and A.J. Brown. The entire Vikings offense is built around the former LSU superstar, and should he avoid injury there's little reason he shouldn't end the year in the top five fantasy football scorers.#4, Tyreek Hill, Miami DolphinsNFL Pro Bowl: Tyreek HillTyreek Hill is the most dangerous player in the NFL and should be an excellent option in fantasy football realms in 2024.Hill ended 2023 with 376.4 PPR points, the fourth-most total points. He has ended the fantasy football season in the top 10 in both of his seasons with the Dolphins and will look to continue his excellent rapport with QB Tua Tagovailoa. However, Hill may have to compete for more targets with the Dolphins' second star, WR Jayden Waddle, who's just been re-signed to a massive $84.75 million, three-year contract extension with $76 million guaranteed. This makes Waddle one of the NFL's five highest-paid receivers, and he'll want the stats to back up his contract.#3, Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati BengalsPro Bowl: NFC vs. AFCCincinnati Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2023 season for both him and the team. Chase ended 2023 as WR31 in PPR scoring, way below what most expected of him entering the season. His poor season came down to an injury to his former college teammate, QB Joe Burrow, whose season-ending wrist injury derailed Cincinnati's season as the Bengals came last in the AFC North. However, coming last in your division means an easier schedule the following year, and Cincinnati will go from having the hardest SOS in 2023 to having the joint-16th easiest schedule this season. This, coupled with Burrow returning from injury, could mean an excellent fantasy football season for Ja'Marr Chase.#2, Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ersSuper Bowl LVIII: San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City ChiefsSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey should continue to be the NFL's best dual-threat RB should he remain healthy in 2024. He ended 2023 as the third-highest points scorer with 391.3 PPR points, including two weeks of scoring 40 points or more.McCaffrey took home NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors after amassing 2,023 all-purpose yards and 21 total touchdowns. His 339 touches also led the NFL, putting to bed his durability concerns from years past.As well as averaging the most yards per carry in his career last year (5.4), he also clocked up 67 receptions from Brock Purdy displaying his dual-threat ability.#1, CeeDee LambPro Bowl: CeeDee LambDallas Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb has a chance to establish himself as the best fantasy football asset in 2024. Lamb was excellent in 2023, amassing 403.2 PPR points, the most of any skill position and second-most overall. He hit double-figures in PPR points all but one game last year, appearing in every Cowboys game.Lamb is one of the most consistent assets in fantasy football and will look to continue his excellent relationship with QB Dak Prescott heading into 2024. The Cowboys are consistently one of the best regular season teams in the NFL, winning 12 games in each of the last three seasons. During that time they were also top three in points scored in each of those years, and their explosive offense should help Lamb feast in fantasy realms in 2023.
