The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led once again by Tom Brady, have a startlingly bad record. They're 6-7, somehow in first place in the NFC South, after a brutal beatdown at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite that, Brady doesn't seem prepared to hang it up. However, former NFL quarterback Chris Simms doesn't think he should come back another season.

On the ProFootballTalk Podcast, Simms expressed concern for the quarterback:

"I don't want to see Brady play a year and not be Brady. And we're kind of you know, we're having moments of that this year where we're getting to that? No, no, where were you just gonna blame him? How do you miss that throw? Whoa, wait, why did he?"

He continued:

"Why did he throw the ball so quick? The pocket was fine. There was a guy over there just there's some of that, you know, the other day, I mean, of course, jumpy and people around him and just losing control of the football."

He added:

"I don't want to see Tom Brady look like that, you know, and it's not gonna look better next year. It'll only look worse. So yeah, from that standpoint, to have a guy that has great respect for him and the things he's done. I don't want to see him in that state on the football field either."

The legendary quarterback has certainly not looked the same this season and Simms believes he should take that as a sign and hang his cleats up before it's too late.

Does Tom Brady have another year in him?

Rumors abound about Tom Brady's future. Despite being 46 and well over NFL retirement age, everyone is wondering where he'll go next.

Retirement makes a lot of sense, but he doesn't talk or act like a player on his way out. He probably won't call it quits, especially if the Buccaneers don't do well.

He probably does have more time in him, or at least he thinks he does. However, it may not be with the Buccaneers. There are rumors of a reunion in New England.

The possibility of a homecoming to San Francisco is also very tantalizing for both parties should it come to fruition.
