Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young has officially declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.
ESPN reporter Adam Schefter broke the news on Monday, January 2nd. The news was expected but became official as Young himself announced the news.
Young had a remarkable three seasons at the University of Alabama. In 2020, he became a national champion while serving as Mac Jones' backup for the season.

A year later, he took over as the starting quarterback for the Crimson Tide and played lights out. In 2021, he led Bama to a 13-2 record, while setting school records in passing yards (4.872), and touchdowns (47), while throwing seven interceptions and three rushing touchdowns.
Bryce Young won the Heisman Trophy and became the first Bama quarterback in history to win the prestigious award.
Young led Bama to a 9-2 record this season while capturing the Sugar Bowl MVP. He finished his college career with 80 passing touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
He is projected to be a top-five pick in a class that is loaded with quarterback talent. Other quarterbacks expected to be picked high in the 2023 draft include C.J. Stroud, Will Levis, and Anthony Richardson.

Bryce Young wasn't the only Crimson Tide player to declare for the draft today. Linebacker Will Anderson Jr. also officially declared for the 2023 NFL draft today, according to Adam Schefter.
Like Young, Anderson Jr. started his collegiate career at Alabama in 2020.
Unlike Young, Anderson Jr. was named a starter as a freshman. He made an early impact on the field, recording seven sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 52 tackles.
He enhanced his game as a sophomore, winning the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and being named a unanimous All-American. He led the nation with 17.5 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss, while also recording 101 total tackles.
This past season, as a junior, he recorded 10 sacks, and 17 tackles for a loss, while recording a pick-six this season.
Anderson is expected to be a top-five pick and could be the first defensive player to be drafted in 2023.
It's a big day for the two Crimson Tide playmakers as they will leave Alabama to join the NFL, and both could be top-three, top-five picks in the draft.
