Joey Bosa is an outside linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers. He has played seven seasons in the NFL, all with the same franchise. In 2022, Bosa spent most of the season on injured reserve as he missed 13 straight games after injuring his groin in Week 3, an issue he aggravated in Week 18.

The San Diego Chargers selected Joey Bosa as the third overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. In March 2020, Bosa and the Los Angeles Chargers agreed to a five-year, $135,000,000 contract, with an average yearly salary of $27,000,000 and a $35,000,000 signing bonus.

Bosa's basic salary will be $24,000,000 in 2023. He will also have a cap hit of $31,000,000 and a dead cap value of $38,000,000.

Bosa is currently under contract with the Los Angeles Chargers and won't hit free agency before the 2025 season.

Let us look at the three best landing spots for Joey Bosa if somehow the Chargers decide to release him before the 2023 season (which is not likely to happen anytime soon).

Kansas City Chiefs

Given that Nick Bilton, Willie Gay, Leo Chenal and Darius Harris are all linebackers who are 27 years old or younger, the Chiefs look to have their key guys in place.

The Chiefs should be able to keep Harris since he is a restricted free agent. However, signing an experienced player like Joey Bosa at that position would strengthen their defense and is one move the Chiefs can make in the offseason.

New England Patriots

During the 2021 season, Bill Belichick overhauled the squad, and it performed admirably in 2022. Coaches were delighted with Jahlani Tavai's breakout season and strong coverage abilities, while Ja'Wuhan Bentley has developed into a capable middle linebacker and team leader. The Patriots might still try to bolster their depth at this position, and Joey Bosa could be the ideal choice.

While it is unlikely right now, it would be entertaining to see Nick and Joey playing together on defense on the same team.

The likelihood of that happening is extremely unlikely due to the cost of having two defensive studs on the same squad. The only scenario in which this may occur is if one person somehow loses ground and is no longer a top performer in their position.

The two previously played together at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, when Nick was a freshman and Joey was a senior.
