Jalen Hurts Injury Update: How long is the Eagles QB out for?

Philadelphia Eagles v Chicago Bears
Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles on the field after a win over the Chicago Bears

The Philadelphia Eagles' 13th victory of the campaign came in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears, thanks to Jalen Hurts' perseverance to play with a shoulder injury. However, the Eagles could be cautious heading into their game against the Dallas Cowboys the day before Christmas.

Hurts' injury isn't considered lengthy, but the Eagles want him to be fully fit when he makes a comeback.

The MVP frontrunner played every snap in Sunday's victory over the Chicago Bears, tying his season-best in rushes while turning in a three-touchdown effort. However, his numbers in the air were not quite as impressive. Twenty-two of his 37 passes were completed, totaling 315 yards and two interceptions.

What happened to Jalen Hurts?

After being struck in the game against the Bears, the 24-year-old quarterback seemed uncomfortable, but no one seemed concerned about his status after completing some outstanding throws late in the game. Jalen Hurts' situation might change, though, in light of new information regarding the extent of the injury that surfaced on Monday.

Hurts suffered a hit in the third quarter after defensive lineman Trevis Gipson drove him to the ground after a 3-yard dash. After the collision, Hurts rested on the ground for a short while before getting up to complete the game. In the 25-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, he passed for 315 yards with two interceptions and rushed for 61 yards and three touchdowns.

Jalen Hurts' season stats

With a victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Christmas Eve, the Philadelphia Eagles can capture the NFC East, but they might not be able to do it with their star quarterback.

The quarterback's MVP-caliber season is abruptly halted due to injury. In addition to his 747 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns, he is completing 67.3% of his passes for 3,472 yards and 22 touchdowns with only five interceptions.

With three matches remaining, the 13-1 Eagles edge the Vikings by two games for the number one seed in the NFC and the Cowboys by three games in the NFC East. To clinch the top seed in the NFC, Philadelphia needs one more victory that will secure home advantage throughout their postseason games. Gardner Minshew is likely to start against the Cowboys.
