Joe Buck Salary: How much does he make as an ESPN Commentator?

Joe Buck and Troy Aikman shocked the sports media community when they left Fox Sports and signed hefty contracts to serve as the new primary faces of ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast earlier in the summer.

Arguably one of the most contentious sportscasters in history, Buck has undoubtedly established a comfortable lifestyle for himself. Since signing a contract with ESPN on March 16, 2022, he has become the new leading broadcaster for Monday Night Football in the 2022 NFL season.

Before joining ESPN, Joe Buck was a mainstay at the Fox network, serving as its lead MLB and NFL play-by-play announcer. As a result, buying Joe Buck came at a high price. According to Marchand, he signed a five-year, $75 million contract with ESPN to call Monday Night Football, which turns out to be between $12 million and $15 million every season.

The signing of Buck's new contract with ESPN does not signify that he has just joined the $10 Million Club. When talking about Jim Nantz's new contract with CBS in 2021, Marchand noted that Buck's pay at Fox was "in the ballpark of $10.5 million per year." It wasn't a complete surprise, but it was a big adjustment for Buck. As the team's leading play-by-play announcer for the NFL on Fox and the World Series, he joined Fox Sports upon its inception in 1994 and occasionally made contributions to important golf competitions.

Joe Buck's career in Sportscasting

At just 25 years old, Buck was appointed by Fox in 1994 and, at the time, was the youngest man ever to present on network television a daily schedule of NFL games.

Besides the World Series in 1997 and 1999, when Bob Costas called the NBC, Buck worked as a World Series play-by-play announcer from 1996 to 2021.

In 2022, he transferred to ESPN, where he currently works as the primary Monday Night Football play-by-play commentator.
