Could Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady move into a life of politics once he retires? We know about his deal with FOX Sports, but could he make the move into politics?
It might not be as farfetched as it sounds. Brady was, and presumably still is, close with former US President Donald Trump. According to Republican nominee for Wisconsin governor Tim Michels, the Buccaneers quarterback is now a texting buddy of Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida. DeSantis is a Republican who is potentially seen as a White House candidate.
Michels said via The New York Times:

“I say, ‘Who are you texting with?’ [Ron DeSantis] says, ‘I’m texting with Tom Brady.’ The governor of Florida gets to text with Tom Brady.”

Being a professional athlete certainly has its perks and for the Buccaneers star, that means texting with the Governor of Florida in DeSantis.
Some have thought that this means the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is supporting DeSantis, but they could just be close friends. Either way, it is certainly an interesting relationship.
Tom Brady's off-field issues now taking over his football

The quarterback had admiration for Donald Trump years ago, although he didn't publicly endorse the 76-year-old in the Republican's run for the presidency in 2016. Now with his text chain with DeSantis, the 45-year-old's off-field life is being talked about more than his football.
Added to that is his reported marriage woes with Gisele Bundchen, which allegedly sees them heading for divorce.
That might not be a bad thing as Tampa Bay hasn't been in the best of form this season. Sitting at 3-4, Tampa and their star quarterback have been largely underwhelming.
With his off-field issues now coupled with his reported new friendship with DeSantis, the Buccaneers quarterback is copping some heat from fans over it.
Not many are happy with the Buccaneers star's newfound friendship with DeSantis. It could make things a little more tricky for the 45-year-old going forward with fans.
At this stage, the pair are just text messaging. But that still doesn't sit well with a lot of people, and many are turning off the Buccaneers quarterback because of it.
