To say that Antonio Brown has had a rough year would be an understatment. From his somewhat one-sided beef with Tom Brady to an arrest warrant, Brown's 2022 has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Despite the nature of the news, it has certainly kept the wide receiver in the limelight.

His career might as well be at a standstill, with fans constantly calling out the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star for his erratic behavior.

Brown's issues with Tom Brady have been ongoing for months, along with a few lawsuits making it difficult for the 34-year-old. Brown has remained mostly sporadic on his social media, sharing occasional updates with fans.

It has, however, landed Antonio Brown at the top of Google's Most Searched Athlete list.

One reason could be his constant digs at Brady, which got worse with time after his exit from the Bucs. The Bucs QB has spoken well of Brown, never really responding to his various claims via social media.

While on the Full Send podcast, Antonio Brown revealed how he and Brady were never truly friends:

"To me, a friend is who's got your back. Why is Tom Brady my friend? Because I play football well. Friendship can mean different things to different people."

How did Antonio Brown's beef with Tom Brady start?

Considering Brown's statement and other hints on social media, he stopped agreeing with the quarterback after leaving the Bucs. It started with claims about how the Buccaneers treated Brady differently to the rest of the team, and how Brady had coerced him into playing with an injured ankle.

According to Brown, the coach told him he could "get out" if he didn't play with an injured ankle. Despite the accusations, there was no response by Brady or the Bucs.

The situation only worsened when Antonio Brown shared an alleged text he received from Brady. The QB expressed his dissapointment in Brown, while asking him to get his act together. Apparently, Brown had slowly turned into an athlete that Brady was hesitant to support.

"You have gone from hanging around good quality people that had genuine interest in seeing you succeed, to seeing others whose lives are erratic and out of control and leading you down a negative path."

Later, Brown involved Brady's now ex-wife Gisele Bundchen in the situation. He took to sharing photoshopped photos of the Brazilian supermodel, one of them embracing and one with Gisele nude. Noticing his continued efforts to humiliate Brady, fans have taken to slamming Brown for his behavior.

Of course, Brown recently had an arrest warrant to his name, the result of a domestic battery charge. The WR even tweeted recently, shocking fans with his indifference to things.

Despite multiple efforts from Antonio Brown's side, Brady has refused to bite. The seven-time Super Bowl winner is yet to respond, not entertaining Brown or his statements. Brown is yet to truly clear out as to why he turned on Brady after his stint with the Bucs, and it's possible there is no adequate reason.

Google's Year in Search 2022: Joe Burrow makes it to top 5

Having said that, Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow made it into the top five of Google's aforementioned list. Here are the top 10:

  1. Antonio Brown
  2. Serena Williams
  3. Joe Burrow
  4. Aaron Judge
  5. Manti Te'o
  6. Brittney Griner
  7. Shaun White
  8. Eileen Gu
  9. Baker Mayfield
  10. Kamila Valieva

Leading his team this season, the young QB has gained attention for his 2022 season. He also secured his third consecutive win against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Nick Wright referred to Burrows as the NFL's second-best QB this season.

Brown and Burrow, both in the top three, seem to be trending for two different reasons. While Burrow has been playing well, Brown might never play for an NFL team again.
