Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet has officially stepped into a new chapter off the field. On Saturday, Kmet married his longtime partner, Emily Jarosz, in a celebration filled with friends, family and the joy of an eight-year relationship reaching its next milestone.

The ceremony, shared in glimpses across social media, captured everything from the couple’s first dance to behind-the-scenes moments with their wedding party.

Emily, who’s stood beside Kmet since their college days at Notre Dame, reposted several stories from guests, offering a view into their big day.

Their wedding arrived nearly a year after Kmet proposed in July 2024, just before Bears training camp kicked off. That moment, celebrated by his family on Instagram, marked the beginning of a countdown to this summer’s ceremony.

For Kmet’s sister, Frankie, it also meant welcoming Emily officially into the family — something she posted on Instagram back then, she had been looking forward to for years.

As Kmet steps into married life, he’s also entering one of the most scrutinized seasons of his NFL career. The 26-year-old remains a central figure in the Bears’ offense, backed by a four-year, $50 million contract he signed in 2023. But the team’s decision to draft Michigan standout Colston Loveland with the No. 10 pick in April has stirred conversation about the future of Chicago’s tight end hierarchy.

Cole Kmet admitted the move caught him off guard at first. During recent minicamp interviews, he reflected on the moment he learned of the pick. Bears coach Ben Johnson reached out quickly after the draft to explain the decision — a gesture Kmet appreciated.

"At first, like, you're taken aback a little bit, but I mean, [coach] Ben [Johnson] was awesome about it in terms of calling me right away and kind of explaining the decision," Cole Kmet said during minicamp, according to CBS Sports.

While the selection raised eyebrows, it hasn't shaken Cole Kmet’s approach. He’s embraced a leadership role throughout offseason practices, something Johnson praised in interviews. According to the coach, Kmet’s presence in the locker room continues to command respect.

Rather than treating Loveland as a rival, Kmet views the rookie as someone who can complement his own skill set. The two bring different dimensions to the offense, and Kmet believes the Bears can benefit from a dual-tight-end setup if they build chemistry early.

Even so, the business side of the NFL remains in play. Though Cole Kmet’s contract is hefty. The Bears have the flexibility to move on after this season with minimal cap impact — a $3.2 million in dead money if they choose to part ways.
