The biggest headline leading up to the 2025 NFL season is the trade of Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. After weeks of stalemate during contact negotiations with the Dallas Cowboys, the star linebacker was traded to Green Bay.The Packers signed Parsons to a four-year deal worth $188 million, and in return, the Cowboys received two first-round draft picks for 2026 and 2027, as well as tackle Kenny Clark. This signing has made Parson the highest-paid non-quarterback athlete in the NFL.After the trade was finalized, fans wondered what number Parsons would wear. While the star LB repped No. 11 in Dallas, he had his eyes on the No. 1 jersey. However, that number was previously claimed by the Packers' rookie wide receiver Matthew Golden.NFL analyst Adam Schefter updated fans on Saturday, reporting that Golden has switched to a No. 0 jersey after Parsons chose No. 1.Fans reacted to the update, with some not appreciating how the veteran LB forced his way into getting a number that was already taken by a young player."YESSSSSSS THE BULLYING WORKED," a fan wrote."Jersey numbers getting more love than actual game prep – Micah Parsons' #1 flex and Packers fans hyped for '0' feels like more PR stunt than football substance," this fan wrote."Wild how a jersey number gets more headlines than actual preseason performances. Parsons flexing on rookies for #1, Packers fans celebrating a ‘0’ and we’re supposed to act like this matters? Feels more like PR than football," another fan tweeted.Check out more fan reactions below:"Micah Parsons already stealing someones number? What an awful teammate smh," this fan wrote."So Micah Parsons claims #1 and Matthew Golden immediately jumps ship to #0… at this point the Cowboys and Packers should just swap laundry, because apparently Parsons is dictating Green Bay’s roster now," a fan stated."I don't like when you take a number from Matthew to give Micah, it's def going to affect his confidence and make him feel less," another fan wrote.Cowboys WR George Pickens addresses Micah Parsons' trade to the PackersCowboys wide receiver George Pickens spoke to NFL insider Jane Slater and shared his thoughts on the trade between the two NFL franchises."I feel like it was just, you know, some people got to do the best for their situation, and I feel like from organization and from player, that's exactly what happened," Pickens said."A guy that's been here for like four or five years dominantly, you know, making an impact. You definitely gonna feel his presence when he's not here."It will be interesting to see how far Parsons performs for the Packers.
