“Dak Prescott is not stupid. He sees it” – Colin Cowherd claims Cowboys’ $160 million QB should fear Cooper Rush taking over

Dak Prescott is close to returning to action, and due to that, the choice for the Dallas Cowboys to sit Cooper Rush will be difficult. Prescott hasn't played since injuring his thumb in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Cooper Rush has played well in his absence.

The Cowboys are currently on a four-game winning streak, and Rush has won all five games he has started for the franchise in his career. Many are speculating that Prescott is concerned about his position, with Rush playing decent football.

Colin Cowherd recently talked about how history is repeating for the Cowboys, and Dak Prescott is aware of it. He highlighted that Prescott came in as a replacement for Tony Romo and then got the starting job. A similar thing could happen here with Cooper Rush. Here's what he said on the Herd with Colin Cowherd:

"Let's go back to the beginning of Dak’s career. Didn't he replace the injured Tony Romo? Nobody thought Dak was as talented as Tony Romo. Tony Romo had made four Pro Bowls. Tony Romo was a naturally gifted thrower, Tony Romo at the time had the third-highest passer rating of all time."

He continued:

"Tony Romo got hurt again. And fourth-round pick Dak was inserted. Dak was more mechanical than Tony Romo. Cooper Rush is more mechanical than Dak. The Cowboys suddenly really leaned into the run game to support Dak. The Cowboys are really leaning into the run game to support Cooper Rush."

He concluded by saying:

"And Jerry Jones immediately had a great fondness for both Dak then and Cooper Rush now. Let history be your guide. Nobody thought Dak was as good as Tony Romo. Dak got off to a great start. Cooper Rush is off to a great start. This is what Dak sees, Dak's not stupid. He sees it."

People outside the franchise think that there is a big quarterback situation brewing in Dallas. But spirits are high in the Cowboys camp and everyone is waiting for Prescott to get back to full health.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has begun practicing for the first time since getting injured. There is a possibility that he will be fit to play against the Detroit Lions in Week 7. Cooper Rush will start against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6 and it will be a tough test for the Cowboys backup quarterback. If Rush inspires Dallas to a win over the undefeated Eagles, then the road ahead will be tougher for Prescott.

After returning from injury, Dak Prescott needs to be at his best in every game or else fingers will be pointed at him pretty quickly.
