After a stunning recovery from cardiac arrest, Damar Hamlin was set to attend the upcoming Wild Card matchup between his Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins. However, that has since changed.

The Associated Press reported that it was unclear whether or not Hamlin would be in attendance with his Bills teammates after initial reports said he would:

"It is unclear whether Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who is still recovering after going into cardiac arrest on the field in Cincinnati two weeks ago, plans to attend Buffalo’s wild-card playoff home game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday."

Despite an initial plan to attend, Hamlin's thinking may have changed:

A person with direct knowledge of the player’s schedule had told The Associated Press on Sunday that Hamlin planned to attend. He later said those 'plans may have changed.'"

The source spoke in anonymity as Hamlin's schedule is expected to be private as he continues to recover from the cardiac arrest he suffered during Week 17.

The star safety was seen with teammates recently but hasn't made a public appearance since being discharged from the hospital and that will not change today.

The safety tweeted that he would support his teammates from home for the Wild Card round.

Why was Damar Hamlin in the hospital?

Whether or not he energizes the crowd at the Buffalo Bills game or not, the simple fact that Damar Hamlin could attend the game today is a miracle in and of itself.

During the Week 17 clash with the Cincinnati Bengals, the safety made a tackle on Tee Higgins before collapsing. He required CPR and was rushed to a nearby hospital immediately.

It was unclear for a long time whether or not he would survive his cardiac arrest. He would shortly wake up and begin an ongoing, but inspiring recovery.

Hamlin was recently discharged from medical care to rehabilitate at home and with the Bills' staff.

It's unclear what the future holds, but if the Buffalo Bills can get a second home game in the playoffs, it would make for one of the most electric scenes when Damar Hamlin returns.

If he can do so today, it would make for one of the most inspiring moments all season long.
