Daniel Jones missed the majority of last season due to a torn ACL in his right knee. However, his comeback season didn't start as planned and New York Giants fans weren’t afraid to say it. Fans reacted to the Giants faltering behind the Minnesota Vikings in their season opener.

The Giants host the NFC clash at MetLife Stadium; however, the home team has been behind throughout the game. Their faithful called out their sixth-year veteran QB for their lackluster offense.

With the score at 14-3 in favor of the Vikings at halftime, the teams headed to the locker room. During this walk, Giants fans started booing Jones. On X (previously Twitter), numerous fans agreed with this sentiment.

“To no surprise Daniel Jones was insufferable so far, and the boos as the team heads to the locker room are completely deserved.”
“A lot of Boos coming from Giants fans. I really don't think that Daniel Jones will keep his QB starting role for 2024 season," wrote one fan.
“Raining down boos on Daniel Jones. Can’t blame anyone," wrote another fan.

Some fans even called into question the $160 million contract that Jones signed last year before getting injured.

“Daniel Jones: - Gets 40 Ms a year to be awful at his job," wrote one fan.
“Reminder that Daniel Jones makes as much money as Aaron Judge this year," wrote another fan.

Vikings run riot over Daniel Jones & Co.

As the Giants' offense failed to make any mark on the game from open play, the Vikings tailored a different tale. Despite losing rookie QB J.J. McCarthy to injury a few weeks ago, veteran journeyman Sam Darnold stepped up.

Playing for his fourth NFL franchise in his seventh season, Darnold rallied the offense. The core WRs, including Justin Jefferson, thrived under his throwing abilities, leading the Vikings in a strong game on the road. At the time of writing, they lead 28-6 midway through the fourth.
