DeAndre Hopkins opened up about a trade

DeAndre Hopkins is well aware of the rumors that the Arizona Cardinals may trade him. These rumors originated well before the NFL draft and continue to churn out today. If the Cardinals don't end up trading him, it would be a surprise.

Hopkins recently spoke out about the potential trade and how he's handling the rumors. He said on the "I Am Athlete" podcast that he understands.

"I have no ego. This is a business. This is a professional sport. People have jobs to do. You know, obviously, there's a new regime. There's new head coaches, new gyms. They come in and out every year on a sports team.
"So for me, understanding that knowing that business, I can't go into it with ego. Hearing rumors of me being traded or shopped around that does nothing for me [as] far is making me feel some kind of way towards that team."

This wouldn't be the first time Hopkins was traded, so it's not exactly uncharted territory for him. He was part of one of the most lopsided trades in recent memory when the Houston Texans sent him and a fourth to the Cardinals for David Johnson, a second and a fourth-round selection.

Potential landing spots for DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins also recently spoke about what he's looking for in a new potential team via Fox Sports:

"What I want is stable management upstairs. I think that's something that I haven't really had the past couple years of my career coming from Houston to being in Arizona. I've been through three to four GMs in my career. A QB who loves the game, a QB who brings everybody on board with him, pushes not just himself but people around him.
"I don't need a great QB – I've done it with subpar QBs – just a QB who loves the game like I do. And a great defense. I think defense wins championships."
