Phillip Lindsay's performances helped the Denver Broncos' become competitive on the field. The running back's ability to burst through holes and bounce off tackles served as one of the few sources of energy for the fanbase in the somewhat immediate wake of Peyton Manning's retirement.

Now, the former NFL running back is suiting up once again for a return to the gridiron via the XFL. According to Tom Pelissero on Twitter, the RB will be joining the Seattle Sea Dragons. Broncos fans erupted at the chance to get another look at the running back.

Lindsay was a great underdog for the Denver Broncos when he blew up in 2018. After going undrafted, Broncos general manager John Elway took a shot with the running back and he quickly rose into the starting role for the team behind quarterback Case Keenum.

In his debut season, he earned more than 1000 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns in 15 games of action. He also became the first undrafted offensive rookie to play in a Pro Bowl.

It would be the best season of his career, but not by much. In 2019, his second season, the running back managed to take part in every game. However, his production slipped by a hair, earning 1011 yards and seven touchdowns.

In 2020, the running back saw his production cut in half in more ways than one. He started just eight games and ran for 502 yards and one touchdown. After the season wrapped, he began to bounce around the league. In 2021, he played for two teams.

Lindsay spent 10 games with the Houston Texans and four games with the Miami Dolphins. Between the two teams, he rushed for about 250 yards and a touchdown. He started just once all season long. In 2022, the running back got a shot with the Indianapolis Colts, but didn't last, rushing for 49 yards in 15 carries over the course of three games.

Now, the running back is hoping to make a crater-sized dent in the league to get back into the big leagues. According to the XFL News Chart, he will be going up against Darius Bradwell and Morgan Ellison for starting rights. The team is only seven games old, so nothing is set in stone on the team. Will Phillip Lindsay reenact past glories in the spring league?
