Patrick Mahomes shares a unique story of his NFL Combine

The 2023 NFL Combine begins today, with numerous athletes looking to impress scouts in order to fulfill their ambition of playing in the NFL. The combine can be challenging at times, as many elite players have discovered.

While there has been much discussion regarding Bryce Young's height, Super Bowl-winning quarterback Patrick Mahomes once told a fascinating story about his visit to the combine and how his height was measured there.

Here's what Mahomes said on the New Heights Podcast:

“I like to say 6’2 and ¼, you know the hair adds a little bit you know, alright, I was definitely 6’2 exactly at the combine. They went straight through the hair, I gotta have the hair up longer a little bit a little extra length and they just put a little pin straight through and got me.”

Patrick Mahomes was certainly surprised with the way his height was measured at the NFL Combine, and it goes to show that many athletes are measured at a lower height than they believe they are.

Fans and people around the league will be keeping a close eye on Bryce Young's measurements at the combine, as it has been a key topic over the past few weeks.

Although Young has been successful at Alabama despite his small size, many believe it could put him in difficult situations in the NFL.

NFL Combine: Patrick Mahomes didn't have a great 40-yard dash time

Patrick Mahomes is not the fastest quarterback, and this was seen by his performance at the 2017 NFL Combine. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback ended up running a time of 4.80 seconds in the 40-yard dash, which is relatively low given how fast the quarterbacks have become in the league.

Despite this, nothing has stopped Mahomes from becoming the league's best quarterback. He has already won two Super Bowls and been named NFL MVP twice. He is widely regarded to be among the top five quarterbacks to ever play the game, and he has many more years to cement himself as arguably the best to ever do it.
