It is Week 1, and it should mean another season of fantasy footballing. But after the NFL's official fantasy app hit technical issues during Thursday's Kickoff Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens, it has happened again.

According to Pro Football Network, NFL Fantasy crashed on Sunday afternoon, with users receiving an error code and the message, "API Limit exceeded," meaning that the app could not handle the massive influx of users.

But a new surge of complaints emerged just before 5 PM ET, reaching a peak of 1,351 just an hour later.

Below are a pair of fan reactions to the outages on X.com:

"Never using the NFL Fantasy App again week 1 and it’s already broken shit is so annoying @NFLFantasy," one fan fumed.
"@NFLFantasy you ruined fantasy football for me. The app is garbage and doesn’t work. Do better," another fan commented.
"NFL Fantasy Football app sucks! It’s not working for anyone I’ve talked to today!" one fan wrote.

Alternatives to NFL Fantasy App

For those wanting to avoid the technical pitfalls of the NFL’s Fantasy app, they have plenty of alternatives to choose from.

One is Underdog Fantasy. This gaming-centric app is known for its “best ball”, which simplifies the process of looking for the best rosters via trades and/or waivers. It has in particular been a favorite of YouTuber UrinatingTree, who proudly touts it as a sponsor of his videos.

For league hosting, there is Sleeper. This app allows managers to set up leagues for free and can also be used for other sports like basketball, including March Madness (the climax of the NCAA’s college basketball tournament).

And then there is Draft Sharks. This is one of the most comprehensive fantasy drafting tools in the gridiron realm, and it boasts live-sync, always updating itself to reflect changes in the real world.
