Is there potential for the future expansion of the XFL?

Since the XFL is getting started again after a two-year hiatus, it is too early to discuss its potential expansion. Due to the Covid epidemic, the earlier XFL was forced to halt operations after its first season in 2001 and following its relaunch in 2020.

Because The Rock purchased it and made substantial investments this year, the XFL is considered viable this year. Many sports analysts believe the XFL can change its course this year since NFL fans are showing interest in the league.

When comparing XFL athletes to NFL athletes, there are several other leagues that can compete with the NFL for the best players, but the XFL cannot. Consider that the NFL selects approximately 250 players each year, plus another 150 who may be invited to walk on, for a total of approximately 400 players.

Many of these players can compete at the XFL level, which would classify them as semi-pro, even though the majority of them aren't good enough to play in the NFL. We'll have to wait and see if the XFL survives first.

The average salary of XFL players

With four teams in each of the Northern and Southern Divisions of the XFL this season, a number of well-known figures will serve as head coaches, including Hall of Fame defensive back Rod Woodson, former Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops, and two-time Super Bowl champion wide receiver Hines Ward (San Antonio Brahmas) (Vegas Vipers).

Yet, given that the players are the focus of this league, we have begun to consider the specifics of a professional footballer's XFL contract.

XFL player base wage: $59,000

Pay per game per week: $5,000

per-win bonus: $1,000

Regardless of whether a player is active or inactive for a certain game, including due to injury, they will all get their weekly pay and victory bonuses. Although specifics have not been finalized as of this writing, it is probable that the league will provide greater bonus compensation for taking part in and/or winning playoff and championship games.

Aside from that, the XFL Hub, the league's headquarters of operations in Arlington, Texas, ensures that all players have lodging and food for the whole season. All players' health, dental, and vision insurance will be paid for by the XFL.

Each athlete will receive benefits worth almost $20,000, according to estimates.
