Tom Brady's first big project post-retirement has been announced, and it involves his production company and the big-time NFL legend. The quarterback's production company, 199 Productions, is creating a short series about the life and career of former NFL coach and broadcaster John Madden.

Fans will get a glimpse into Madden's life in the National Football League as a coach, broadcaster, and then the face of the Madden video game franchise. Series director Gavin O'Connor will consult with John Madden's wife Virginia and son Mike Madden on the creation of the biopic.

When the news was released this week, Tom Brady said that he grew up idolizing John Madden. Saying that he admired his work as an NFL coach with the Raiders as well as his time spent in the broadcast booth.

“I grew up admiring John Madden, first as a coach, then as a commentator. I loved John’s passion for the game, especially his insatiable appetite for educating audiences about football."

Tom Brady went on to say that he was honored to be given the opportunity to collaborate with the Madden family and tell the story of a man who meant so much to the game of football.

"On behalf of 199 Productions, I’m honored to collaborate with Virginia and Mike Madden, my co-founder at Religion of Sports, Gotham Chopra, and the rest of the creative team, in telling the iconic story of a family man who revolutionized not only the game but the culture of football.”

The series is still being scripted and an estimated release date is not yet known. The quarterback established "199 Productions," which was titled after his draft pick selection two years ago, and this will be one of the biggest productions thus far.

When will Tom Brady begin his broadcast career?

Last spring, after he officially un-retired from the National Football League, Tom Brady signed a ten-year broadcasting deal with FOX Sports that is estimated at over $350 million. The deal was still tentative when he decided to officially call it a career.

When he officially retired on February 1, 2023, fans began to wonder if he would start his career in the booth in the fall of 2023. Last week, Brady stated that he won't begin his work with FOX Sports until the fall of 2024.

This will give FOX another season to decide who they will pair with Greg Olsen, who was with the broadcast team this season and will be replaced when Brady begins broadcasting.
