Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady have both been on the deck of the retirement conveyor belt over the last few years. Despite consistently showing signs of fatigue and apathy towards the game, both quarterbacks are in the middle of yet another season.

However, speaking on Pro Football Talk, both Chris Simms and Mike Florio are prepared for a No. 12 to walk out on the job one day and never return.

Chris Simms believes that though it's usually Rodgers who does unexpected things, this season is showing Brady as the more unstable character.

"I think usually Rodgers is more of the guy that [acts like a] renegade, like, 'I'm out of here. Screw this. I've had enough. I'm out of here.' But this is a weird year to where we're seeing Brady do weird crap and having personal issues that makes me think it might be him this year. What about you?"

Mike Florio responded, claiming there's been a chance of that all along:

"Well, I have thought all along [that] there's a chance Brady checks out for good during the season, and I still think there's a chance that happens."

To play or not to play? The question has been gnawing at the quarterback all year long and depending on the day, the answer has been different. Earlier this year, Tom Brady officially retired from the game. However, that retirement only lasted six weeks.

Then, in August, the quarterback stepped away for 11 days due to personal reasons. Most recently, he missed a day of practice in the lead-up to the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were coming off a 38-3 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

In the game, the Steelers also faced a quarterback change once Kenny Pickett went out with a concussion.

Tom Brady will hope to put the loss behind him as he gears up for another murky quarterback-challenged opponent in the Carolina Panthers.
