The Dallas Cowboys are coming off their most dominant performance of the season and possibly even the strongest of Dak Prescott's career. Dallas' beatdown of the Minnesota Vikings was more than just a display of power. In one NFL analyst's mind, the performance has made him believe the team could finally breakthrough in January.

When asked directly on Get Up if the team could reach the Super Bowl, NFL analyst Ryan Clark responded in the affirmative. Here's how he put it:

"Yeah. What they showed you was that you have to start counting them with the elite in the NFC."

Overall, aside from Dallas, most would agree that it was not a good day for the top-ranked teams in the NFC. The 9-1 Philadelphia Eagles surprisingly almost lost to the interim head coach-led 4-6-1 Indianapolis Colts. At the same time, the now 7-3 New York Giants lost to the 4-6 Detroit Lions.

Where do the Cowboys stand in the NFC division race?

At 7-3, Dallas sits in second place in what has turned out to be a tough-as-nails division. The Washington Commanders sit in fourth place at 6-5 in a rare sighting at over .500 with a win over the Eagles under their belt. Meanwhile, the New York Giants have slipped into third place at 7-3 after their loss to Detroit.

The Philadelphia Eagles still lead the division at 9-1, leading most Cowboys fans to circle their next meetup with them on the calendar. The next and potentially final battle between the two teams is scheduled to take place on Christmas Eve at 1:25 PM EST.

After that, Dallas will still have two games to possibly catch the Eagles. Following that divisional showdown, Dallas will play the Tennessee Titans and the Washington Commanders in Week 18. Will the Cowboys manage to supplant the Eagles for control of the NFC East?
