Jordan Addison was shaping up to be Justin Jefferson's new sidekick in the Minnesota Vikings backfield after an impressive rookie season. Drafted 23rd overall in 2023, he proceeded to be monstrously productive as he made 70 catches for 911 yards and ten touchdowns. But all that promise has seemingly been put on hold, at the very least.
Late on Friday, the wide receiver was arrested for alleged DUI near the Los Angeles International Airport—he was released the next day. This marked the second time a preseason driving incident has happened in his life as he was cited for reckless driving in July 2023.
Fans were aghast after learning of the arrest, as Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson tragically lost his life last week due to a crash caused by another driver who was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol.

Jordan Addison’s arrest could not have come at a worse time for Vikings
What really hurts about Jordan Addison’s arrest, as seen in the comments above, is that it occurred just some days after the Vikings lost cornerback Khyree Jackson in an automobile accident.
The second-round rookie and two of his high school teammates were driving around Prince George’s County when an Infiniti Q50 that was attempting to change lanes at high speed hit their Dodge Charger, veering it off the road.
Jackson and one of the teammates were killed at the scene. The other teammate died on his way to hospital. Investigators believe that alcohol may have been involved, as it is suspected to be with the Addison case.
A statement from the Vikings read:
"We are devastated by the news of Khyree Jackson's death following an overnight car accident. Our thoughts are with Khyree's family, friends, teammates and coaches, as well as all the victims of this tragic accident."
And then there was the aftermath. During a candle vigil for the three, shots were fired. One person was killed and another wounded.
Meanwhile, the organization has issued a statement regarding Addison’s arrest:
"We are aware of Jordan Addison’s arrest this past Friday and are currently gathering more information regarding the incident."
More details on the Los Angeles incident are still pending as of this writing.
