While Aaron Rodgers has been away from the world in complete darkness, the Green Bay Packers have also weighed up their future.

According to insider Matt Schneidman on Twitter, Green Bay's general manager has revealed what the team wants to do. Put simply, this offseason, they will be the ones demanding things from their quarterback.

Brian Gutekunst wants a resolution with Rodgers by March 15, and if he decides to return, it will be under a restructured deal. It seems the team is serious about getting back some of the money they had originally committed to him.

Gutekunst also claimed he was ready to go to Jordan Love if "No. 12" doesn't agree to their demands.

Will No. 12 take a paycut?

Here's how NFL insider Matt Schneidman put his report regarding the Packers-Aaron Rodgers situaton:

Over the last couple of offseasons and one could argue for the entirety of his starting career, Aaron Rodgers has held all of the cards.

In the past, he's been the one dropping hints and drawing out decisions about his future with the Green Bay Packers. The Packers, meanwhile, have sat by while "No. 12" has seemingly pushed the envelope.

However, following the first season in nearly half a decade to fall below .500 and miss the playoffs, the gauntlet has been thrown down. Now, if Rodgers wants to play for Green Bay, he's going to need to take a paycut. If he wants to play elsewhere, that door remains open.

In other words, he'll either be forced to learn a new team from scratch, retire, or play for a reduced rate for his current team.

Put simply, it appears life is going to get a little more difficult or a lot different for Aaron Rodgers going forward.
