Micah Parsons showed up to Cowboys minicamp, but didn't participate in practice. The All-Pro edge rusher kept his word and attended the mandatory session in Frisco, but he skipped drills and stayed in sideline mode amidst his looming payday.

“Can’t rush the process,” Parsons told reporters about contract talks.

He also had a lengthy chat with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, but said the two didn’t discuss money.

NFL fans online weren’t buying the silence. One tweet said what everyone has been thinking for months,

“Pay the man his damn money.”

“What a waste of time for both of them,”

“What are we waiting on ???? Give Micah what he wants asap.” Another fan reacted.
“You being here says a lot of about your character and commitment to the Dallas Cowboys. I’ll reward you for this come contract time.” An X user tweeted.

However, not all fans shared the same reaction.

“Trade him, we don't need another duk type contract.” A fan wrote.

"NOBODY cares.... NO ONE. He'll be out of the league in less than 4 years," commented another.

Parsons’ presence in this Cowboys team is no small deal. He’s one of just four players in NFL history to notch more than 10 sacks in his first four seasons. Last year, he piled up 12 sacks and 43 tackles without missing a beat.

Parsons has stayed committed throughout the offseason. He's not holding out; he's just holding off on the injury. He has 52.5 sacks, 256 tackles and 112 QB hits since entering the league in 2021. The numbers and the fans speak loud and clear, and it looks like it’s time for Jerry Jones to open that checkbook.

Micah Parsons gets honest about the Cowboys' contract situation

Micah Parsons isn’t ducking the contract chatter; he’s facing it head-on. Parsons admitted he’s hopeful a deal gets done before training camp, but made it clear: it’s all in Jerry Jones’ hands.

“He gives the green light,” Parsons said to the reporters after minicamp practice on Tuesday. “It’s up to him.”

The Cowboys' defensive end is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is expected to land a monster extension, possibly topping Myles Garrett’s $160 million mark; however, there have been no major strides in the contract negotiations that also involve his agent, David Mulugheta. Nonetheless, Parsons is staying the course.

“I’m going to keep showing up and preparing like any other year,” he said.

Micah Parsons confirmed he’ll be in Oxnard with his family when camp starts in July.
