Chris Broussard didn’t hold back during a fiery segment on "First Things First." He tore into Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for what he called “more idiocy” in handling Micah Parsons’ contract extension.

Broussard expressed disbelief at how Dallas is again risking locker room stability and financial leverage by dragging out negotiations.

"It's something," Broussard said on Sunday. "Something idiotic by surprise. Surprise, the Cowboys. OK, what are you doing? We all know you're gonna pay Micah Parsons.
"You can't let Micah Parsons walk. Alright. So you are just stringing this thing along like you did Dak (Prescott), like you did Ceedee, like you did Zeke. And what's gonna happen is you're gonna have to pay him more money. And so it's just more idiocy from the company."

The veteran FS1 analyst slammed the franchise’s latest delay tactic, likening it to past standoffs with stars like Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and CeeDee Lamb.

Chris Broussard predicts training camp disruption from Micah Parsons' contract standoff

Beyond financial concerns, Chris Broussard predicted the stalled talks could bleed into the team’s preseason preparation. Parsons has already been a limited participant in voluntary OTAs, and Broussard sees that potentially escalating into missed time during mandatory sessions or even training camp.

"And because he's skipping OTAs, however valuable you think that is, the second week might end up skipping some, maybe a hold in during training camp," Broussard added.
"Definitely. So he's less ready for the game when the games do start. Even if you sign him an hour before, it's, you know, the kick off. And so you are hurting your team."

Broussard argued that lingering contract uncertainty creates distractions, disrupts rhythm and hinders team chemistry, especially under new leadership.

He also dismissed the idea that incoming coach Brian Schottenheimer could fix what he sees as an organizational problem rooted far deeper.

"And this isn't a shot at the new head coach, but all this talk from Brian Schottenheimer about changing the culture," Broussard said. "Guess what? You couldn't change Jerry Jones. Yeah. So that's, you can't change the culture as the coach. It is from Jerry Jones, and that's what this mess is."

The Cowboys brass, meanwhile, has adopted a cautious approach. During a June 3 media appearance, executive vice president Stephen Jones declined to provide any specifics, saying updates will come as things get done.

Schottenheimer remained optimistic about Micah Parsons showing up for minicamp, brushing off his OTA absences as part of the business side of football.

Parsons and Jones have reportedly met multiple times to discuss the terms of a possible five-year, $200 million extension.

Outside voices have begun weighing in. ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio floated the theory that Jerry Jones might be dragging things out intentionally for media buzz. However, Athlon Sports pushed back, calling such claims speculative and noting the team has been actively working behind the scenes on several fronts.
