Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is coming off a slightly sub-par season, and now that Tom Brady is retired, his job will be much tougher next season.

While most NFL players are enjoying the offseason, including Evans, the Buccaneers star found time to show his support for LeBron James. Many former players have recently come out to speak negatively about James, and Evans was having none of it.

Evans lashed out at all LeBron James' critics, especially those who played in the NBA on one of his Instagram stories. Here's what Mike Evans wrote:

"It's understandable when below average Joes say it because that's expected they don't know. But some of you dudes that played a sport at the highest level and know basketball, y'all should be ashamed, this man is the G.O.A.T.”

Evans referred to LeBron James as the "greatest player of all time," which is an ongoing debate, but there is no denying that the LA Lakers star is criticized even when he is not playing.

It can be said that LeBron James is the player who has received the most criticism throughout his career despite having a successful career. People will continue to undermine his legacy, but for Evans, he will remain the best player to ever play the sport.

After Tom Brady retired, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers refused to get another veteran quarterback, it was assumed that Mike Evans would demand a trade soon. However, with the arrival of Baker Mayfield, it seems like Evans will continue to play for the Bucs.

Last season, Evans had 77 catches for 1,124 yards and scored six touchdowns in 15 games. Over the years, Brady and Evans had formed a great duo and it will be hard to replicate that for Mayfield. However, the former first-overall pick will hope to redeem himself next season.

Mayfield has signed a one-year deal as he wants to prove to the league that he is still capable of leading a team. If he plays well in the upcoming season, Mayfield could see himself getting a decent contract next offseason, and the Bucs might even look to continue with him if he is able to impress.
