Titans post heartfelt message for victims of "senseless" Tennessee school shooting 

The United States was once again rocked by the news of a school shooting, this time in Nashville, Tennessee. On Monday morning, a female shooter opened fire at the Covenant School, a private Christian school that enrolls students from pre-k up through sixth grade.

The Tennessee Titans, who call Nashville home, sent out a Tweet shortly after the horrific news broke. The Titans said that the organization was heartbroken by the tragic event and that they offered their condolences to the friends and families of the victims as well as the entire Covenant School community.

Although details are still emerging about what took place on Monday morning, there are some details that authorities can confirm. A 28 year old female shooter entered the Nashville, Tennessee school through an unlocked side door around 10:00am local time, armed with several weapons including a handgun and two assault-style rifles.

She apparently fired shots on the first and second floor of the school. The shooter was shot and killed by police on the second floor of the school. Authorities also tragically confirmed that three adult staff members and three children had died. It's unknown whether there were any additional injuries.

The rest of the school was evacuated and students were reunited with their families at another location. The shooter nor the victims have been identified at this moment as authorities work to contact families. A motive for the shooting or how and if the shooter was connected to the school is also unknown at this time.

According to CNN, the Covenant School has an enrollment of about 200 students and has about 50 staff members employed. A small school community that is no doubt shocked and horrified by the events that took place on Monday morning.

With six confirmed deaths, this is now the deadliest school shooting in the United States since the tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, in May 2022.
