Tom Brady's dad didn't hold back about Bill Belichick following New England departure

When Tom Brady decided to leave the New England Patriots after two decades of success with the team, it caused a lot of fans to question what went wrong. The quarterback won six Lombardi trophies with the team and it instantly appeared that none of that mattered.

In 2021, the quarterback's father, Tom Brady Sr., made an appearance on the "Patriots Talk Podcast" and spoke with Tom Curran of NBC Sports Boston. The elder Brady told Curran that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was the main reason for his son leaving. He said that Belichick wanted the quarterback gone and to start a new era in New England:

"Damn right. Damn right. Belichick wanted him out the door and last year he threw 56 touchdowns. I think that's a pretty good year."

Clearly, the quarterback's father felt that the Patriots and Belichick forced his son out despite the success that he brought to the franchise. He also said he felt 'vindicated' when his son signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and won a Super Bowl in his first season there.

As the quarterback embarks on yet another postseason run, he will once again be a free agent after the conclusion of the season. Will he finally retire or will he give it yet another go? As history has shown, anything is possible.

What is Tom Brady's record against the Dallas Cowboys?

Tom Brady has been in the NFL for 23 seasons, so at this point he has a lot of history with every team in the league. As the Buccaneers prepare to host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night at Raymond James Stadium, his record has been mentioned.

The seven-time Super Bowl winning quarterback is 7-0 against the Cowboys in his NFL career. Two of those wins came in Week 1 of the 2021 and 2022 NFL seasons as the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While Dallas suffered a Week 1 loss to the Buccaneers, the team went on to compete for the NFC East and win 12 games this season.

The Bucs are underdogs heading into the playoff game against the Cowboys. However, many are betting on the fact that Brady's longtime success against Dallas will come to fruition on Monday night.
