Tyreek Hill admits having tough time dealing with Chiefs winning Super Bowl without him

In 2022, Tyreek Hill was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins for an overhaul of draft picks. The move worked out well for both Hill and the Chiefs.

Tyreek Hill recently appeared on the Million Dollars Worth of Game podcast, where he opened up about watching his former team win the Super Bowl 57 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Hill confessed it was hard watching the Cheifs win as he missed adding a Lombardi Trophy to his accolades.

"The first year that they went, me and my wife, we took a trip to Tokyo because it was kind of hard for me," Hill said. "I don't want to look at no game, I don't want to look at nothing. She was like 'Babe, let's just go to Tokyo, let's just get away from it and let's do our thing.'"

Tyreek Hill added that he was rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs when they played the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl 58.

"The second year, this year when they won, I watched the whole game. I was like 'Y'all gotta win this thing.' You feel me? I'm cool now. But the first year it was kind of hard, trying to get over that hump of seeing the guys do their thing out there."

Tyreek Hill trade worked out well for the wide receiver and the Kansas City Chiefs

The blockbuster trade in March 2022, which sent Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, worked out well for both parties.

The 8x Pro Bowler was disgruntled with his pay in Kansas City. After his trade to Miami, he eventually received a mammoth four-year $120 million contract, making him the highest paid wide receiver in the National Football League.

Hill recorded consecutive 1,700+ yards in the past two seasons. The 30-year-old wide receiver had a career year last season, recording 1,799 receiving yards and was on pace to a historic 2000-yard season until an ankle injury played spoilsport.

The Kansas City Chiefs, on the other hand, were heavily doubted after losing their former WR1. A lot of questions were raised about the Chiefs on getting acclimatized to not having Hill.

But Patrick Mahomes shut the noise out and the Chiefs went on to win back-to-back Super Bowls. The Kansas City Chiefs are chasing history in the 2024 NFL season by becoming the first team to three-peat.

On the other hand, Tyreek Hill looks to break the 50-years Super Bowl drought in Miami and bring home the Lombardi Trophy.
