A NBC video showed the wreckage of the car accident that took the life of Minnesota Vikings cornerback Khyree Jackson. Jackson was one of three people who died in an overnight three-car crash on Saturday in Maryland.
Police said Jackson died at the scene. He was a passenger in the car. According to reports, the driver of a second vehicle traveling north attempted to change lanes “at a high rate of speed” and struck the car that Jackson was in as well as a third vehicle.
The other two people in the car that Jackson was in also died, while no one in the other two cars was injured.
Following the tragic news, an NBC clip showed the extensive damage to the car.

In the video, a car is shown in a complete wreck as it was split into two halves.
Jackson was selected in the fourth round with the 108th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He played college football at Fort Scott, Alabama and Oregon. He ended his career at Oregon.
NFL world mourns the death of Khyree Jackson
Following the news that Khyree Jackson was one of three people who died in a car accident, the Minnesota Vikings issued a statement. Heach coach Kevin O'Connell said:
"I am absolutely crushed by this news. Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him.
"In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player, but what was more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him. I am at a loss for words. My heart goes out to Khyree's family, friends, teammates and coaches."
Vikings general manager, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah also issued a statement on the heartbreaking news:
"I am heartbroken by the loss of Khyree. As we got to know him throughout the pre-draft process, it was clear the goals Khyree wanted to accomplish both professionally and personally. His story was one of resilience. He was taking steps to become the best version of himself not just for him, but for those who cared about and looked up to him.
"Khyree's personality captured every room he was in. I'm devastated that his life and everything he had in front of him has been cut short. My thoughts are with Khyree's family and friends, those who played with and coached him in college, and his teammates and coaches here at the Vikings."
Along with the Vikings, the NFL world took to social media to mourn the death of Jackson.
There were plenty of touching tributes to Jackson who passed away at age 24.
