Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has once again found himself immersed in controversy.

After the LSU Tigers defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA Women's Championship game, there was a moment that everyone is talking about. LSU's Angel Reese gave Iowa's Caitlin Clark her own celebratory hand gesture. Clark made the "I Can't See You" gesture after defeating South Carolina on Friday.

The moment has sports fans divided as many believe it was the same thing that Clark did and others believe it was simply uncalled for. Dave Portnoy joined the legion of fans who believed it was lacking class. But, as in true fashion, he used some choice words to describe it, which has rubbed many people the wrong way:

"Classless piece of s**t"

One of those being Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. The Super Bowl champion wide receiver Tweeted the laughing/crying emoji and said:

"People really allow mfs like this have a platform on sports"

That didn't stop Dave Portnoy, however, as others besides Hill continued to call him out for his remarks. He continued to stick by his thoughts for the rest of the night and continued his Twitter rants.

Why was Dave Portnoy banned from the NFL?

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy may find himself at some of the biggest sporting events in the world, but he won't be at an NFL game.

In 2015, along with his Barstool Sports company, he staged a protest against commissioner Roger Goodell and the National Football League. It was due to the league's handling of the New England Patriots' infamous "DeflateGate" scandal.

Dave Portnoy proceeded to make tens of thousands of towels and t-shirts that had Goodell's face on them while wearing a clown nose. He was banned from all NFL-related events. Portnoy cannot go to any pre-season, regular-season or playoff games, nor the NFL draft, nor the Super Bowl.

In 2018, he attempted to attend the Super Bowl media day event to interview NFL players. Despite wearing a disguise, he was escorted out of the event. Portnoy was charged with criminal trespassing and Barstool Sports is still not permitted to cover NFL events in person.

Last summer, during an interview with Congress due to the Washington Commanders scandal, Roger Goodell was asked about Portnoy's ban. Interestingly, Goodell claimed he knew nothing about it.
