It's probably never a good idea to dig deep into a celebrity's social media account. Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen is no exception. Right before the 26-year-old was drafted, people got hold of some offensive tweets made by Allen when he was in high school.

Now, some stars choose to ignore the backlash, while others delete the tweets and move on. Allen, however, chose to address the situation and deal with the comments.

The young QB addressed the situation, adding that he should never have made the comments. Though some fans were convinced by his apology, some remained wary. Here's what he said to ESPN in 2018:

"If I could go back in time, I would never have done this in a heartbeat. At the time, I obviously didn't know how harmful it was and now has become".

He continued:

"I hope you know and others know I'm not the type of person I was at 14 and 15 that I tweeted so recklessly. ... I don't want that to be the impression of who I am because that is not me. I apologize for what I did."

The tweets were made in 2012 and 2013, and have now been deleted from his account. Furthermore, Allen's Twitter account was cleared of most offensive tweets in January 2018 itself.

Allen checked through his account himself, but probably ended up missing a few tweets here and there.

What exactly did Josh Allen say in high school?

Josh Allen's tweets from high school consisted of some racial slurs, making a repeated appearance. Allen wrote in 2012:

“@cheriishhh: i dont think you n--- want a troubled son!”
"@FelipeeeeMelo_: Bout to show up these N---- at pong. Gonna do for @j_prodigy_5 @AFlyer5 and @J_Sal_Forever_5."

Furthermore, Allen added that a few of his tweets were in response to shows. One of which was:

"Why are you so white ? — If it ain't white, it ain't right!"

This particular statement from Allen is a response he made to a question asked to him while on FM. However, the reply was referring to a Phil Dunphy quote from the popular show Modern Family. Appearing in Season 2 Episode 8, the original quote replaces 'it' with 'you'.
