Mina Kimes has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. However, it was through no fault of her own. She was the victim of an ethnic slur used against her on a radio show.

During an episode of WEEI's The Greg Hill Show, Chris Curtis and his co-hosts (Greg Hill, Jermaine Wiggins, and Courtney Cox) discussed their "top five n*ps." The context originally appeared to be about small liquor bottles and the difficulty in recycling them.

Curtis jumped into the conversation, which had been around the liquor bottles, and tried to make what he felt was a hilarious joke:

"I'd probably go Mina Kimes."

The host came under fire later, but everyone on the show sort of glossed over it and continued with their original discussion.

The word "n*p" is short for Nippon and is an ethnic slur used against Japanese people. It also refers to the liquor bottles the show was discussing, but clearly has a double meaning depending on the context.

Curtis wasn't using it in the appropriate context and instead decided to disparage Kimes for no apparent reason. She wasn't even part of the discussion, but Curtis couldn't resist the opportunity.

It's worth pointing out that Kimes isn't even Japanese. She is of Korean descent, but she is from Nebraska. Additionally, in a bit of damage control, the corporation tried to insinuate that the show's host meant Mila Kunis and not Mina Kimes.

Kunis was born into a Ukranian-Jewish family, so the reference Curtis was trying to make doesn't work for her, either.

NFL world comes to defend Mina Kimes from the ethnic slur

Here's the video in which Chris Curtis tried to disparage Mina Kimes. It's clear he's trying to jump in with what he felt would be funny, but it failed epically.

Many NFL fans and other sports personalities were tired of seeing Kimes be the butt of these "jokes" and came to her defense.

Warning: NSFW Language

For whatever reason Curtis thought about using the joke and whether or not he meant Kimes or Mila Kunis, it did not land and most of the world is pretty upset with him.
