XFL side Guardians' HC Terrell Buckley throws his team under the bus after yet another defeat (Video)

The XFL's Orlando Guardians had a tough time of it against the San Antonio Brahmas. Head coach Terrell Buckley wasn't shy about letting the world know what he thought about his team's performance that saw them down 27-6 at one point through the third quarter.

The Guardians would eventually lose 30-12. Buckley's team is now 0-2 after the first fortnight of games. After losing to the Houston Roughnecks in the opening week 33-12, change was expected, but it didn't happen.

Buckley was asked about his team's performance while the game was still going, and he didn't hold back on what he thought of what he had seen up until then.

Buckley said:

“We got to get different guys. Obviously I got guys out there that are not competing, that are not making plays, so we got to get people in there, young men in there that want play. They want to compete and make plays. I’m seeing guys not performing, tell them to look at the scoreboard, they got to perform.”

The one rule of thumb (unwritten rule of course) is that coaches really shouldn't throw their team under the bus in the public eye; instead, they should do it behind closed doors.

Well, Buckley didn't get the memo, and he gave his underperforming team both barrells.

While it is still early in the XFL season, the Guardians are already in a world of hurt. Back-to-back blowout losses see Orlando quickly losing control of its season. A 33-12 loss to Houston was then followed up by a 30-12 loss to the Brahmas as the team is already at rock bottom.

They will be the Arlington Renegades next week, and it promises to be a tense week as Buckley put his players on blast on national television.

Just how the team responds to back-to-back blowouts will be key, but such were the strong words from Buckley, that it has the chance to go the opposite way, making the players fall in a heap.

We hope not as there is still plenty of XFL football to be played, but the Guardians need to get it sorted out and quick.
