In the game between the Seattle Sea Dragons and the St. Louis Battlehawks, Ben DiNucci threw the ball to Jahcour Pearson to score the first touchdown of the game.

Dallas Cowboys fans will remember Ben DiNucci playing for them. However, they will now have to look towards Seattle if they wish to cheer for their former quarterback, as that is where he is currently plying his trade and looking sharp at it.

DiNucci led the Sea Dragons to a 12-0 lead by first taking them into field-goal range and following that up with the touchdown pass to Jahcour Pearson. He then successfully converted a three-point attempt with a pass from the 10-yard line.

The highlight, though, was the touchdown pass. Pearson caught the perfectly weighted pass and then set off with the endzone beckoning him, with his speed doing the rest.

Ben DiNucci and Jahcour Pearson combine after different routes to the XFL

Ben DiNucci was picked in the 2020 NFL Draft in the seventh round. He was a backup to Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton in the 2020 season. After the former went down injured, DiNucci became the primary backup and the starter after Dalton had to leave because of a concussion protocol. His only outing against the Philadelphia Eagles did not go to plan, though, as he lost two fumbles and was sacked twice.

Ben DiNucci completed just 21 of his 40 passes. The poor performance saw him drop down the depth chart, with Garrett Gilbert overtaking him. He remained with the Cowboys until 2022 on the practice squad, before joining this season in the XFL.

Jahcour Pearson, on the other hand, might be going the other way. He was eligible for the draft in 2022, but was not drafted out of Ole Miss. He has made an immediate impact in the XFL, though.

In the first game, he caught 12 out of 14 passes for 95 yards, averaging 6.75 yards. This time, he caught the first touchdown of the game. He is just 24 years old and could use it as a springboard to get noticed by NFL scouts. There have been former XFL players who have gone on to have success in the league and there is no reason why Jahcour Pearson cannot do so as well.

We see Ben DiNucci not succeeding in the NFL and then getting another chance in the XFL. On the other hand, we see the receiver getting his first breakthrough in the XFL, which could take him to the NFL. With the opposing trajectories, their paths have crossed in Seattle this season.
