Micah Parsons is awaiting a new deal from the Dallas Cowboys, who had acquired the four-time Pro Bowl LB in the first round of the 2021 NFL draft. Parsons has been a key player, but instead of extending his stay, the Cowboys picked up his fifth-year option in April 2024.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Parsons' contract situation, new Cowboys new coach Brian Schottenheimer has supported his star linebacker. On social media, a clip of Parsons doing the "good night" trend has gone viral. The Cowboys linebacker called several of his teammates as part of the trend and called Schottenheimer as well.

However, the Cowboys coach showed some love and support to Parsons as he navigates through his contract situation:

"I know this is weird for everybody man, but looks, you're handling everything the right way bro. And this thing is going to get worked out and again, I'm just thrilled to see where we take this thing. We're building something special and you're going to be a huge part of it."

NFL analyst Chris Broussard isn't a fan of owner Jerry Jones and the Cowboys dragging Parsons' contract negotiations. On Sunday's episode of First Things First, he explained how the Cowboys are looking"'idiotic" by stalling the negotiations, as they don't plan on parting ways with the linebacker.

Broussard also highlighted how the Cowboys had a similar contract situation with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb last year. He believes they could pay more to Micah Parsons because of the rising market value.

Brian Schottenheimer provides update on Micah Parsons attending mandatory minicamp

Micah Parsons is looking to get paid ahead of the 2025 season. However, despite the stalemate in negotiations, Brian Schottenheimer provided a positive update ahead of mandatory minicamp.

Last Tuesday, the Cowboys coach said that Parsons will be attending the minicamp.

"He's doing a little bit of traveling, but again, everythign he and I have talked about I expect that he would be here. Like I said, each and every week Micah and I have great conversations, everything I've asked him to do and vice versa he's followed through on.

"That thing that I know about Micah is that Micah wants to be here. He's excited about what we're building. He's been a big proponent of that."

In four seasons, Micah Parsons has started all 63 regular-season games he's played. The linebacker has tallied 256 tackles, 52.5 sacks and 112 quarterback hits.
