Rashaad Penny Eagles contract: How much salary will the Running Back earn in Philly?

Running Back Rashaad Penny has been moved to the Philadelphia Eagles in one of the latest deals of this off-season. Penny is a former first-round pick, and the Seattle Seahawks drafted him as the 27th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

He spent the first five years of his career with the Seahawks. But now, he'll move to the beaten Super Bowl LVII finalists, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Penny will earn $1,350,000 for his initial one-year contract with the Eagles in what can be described as a prove-it deal. The San Diego State University alum came into the NFL with many expectations, but sadly, he just couldn't live up to them.

The Seahawks thought that Penny would be their new Marshawn Lynch, but alas, that was a false alarm. Penny will now be moving to the Eagles, a team that might be just the fresh start he needs to fulfill his potential.

How much has Rashaad Penny earned in his NFL career?

Rashaad Penny might have regularly punched below his weight, but he still got to earn quite some money in the National Football League. Remember, Penny was selected with a first-round pick in 2018, so he was paid a first-round pick kind of money.

Upon being drafted by the Seahawks, Penny signed a four-year, $10,765,438 rookie scale contract to play ball with the Seahawks. This made him one of the best-paid rookie running backs in the entire NFL.

Following the completion of his rookie contract and due to the Seahawks' refusal to activate his fifth-year option, the team decided to bring him back for a fifth year.

In that fifth year, Rashaad Penny earned $5,750,000 for his efforts. He helped the Seahawks reach the playoffs in 2022. We would love to see how Penny performs in Philadelphia, as he plays exclusively for a new team for the first time in his NFL career.

What is Rashaad Penny's NFL career stat-line?

Rashaad Penny had an injury-ravaged 2022, which seemed true to his NFL nature. Ever since being drafted by the Seahawks, Penny has never played all the games in an NFL season. Instead, he missed games due to niggling injuries.

Penny only appeared in five games for the Seahawks in 2023, and he put up a stat line of 57 rush attempts, 346 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns. Quite the drop-down from his career-best 2021 season.
