"Tired of y'all lyin" - Rashod Bateman flames Ravens GM for pointing fingers at Lamar Jackson and WR room

Lamar Jackson has not had a ton of help offensively over the years. The Baltimore Ravens have struggled to give him consistent weapons on offense and GM Eric DeCosta said they won't stop trying to get him a consistent wide receiver.

The Ravens have drafted a few wide receivers over the years like Rashod Bateman and Marquise Brown, but neither have stuck like the Ravens thought.

DeCosta addressed this, saying:

"If I had an answer, that would probably mean I would have some better receivers. ... We're gonna keep swinging. There have been some guys that have been successful players for us that were draft picks. We've never really hit on that All-Pro type of guy, which is disappointing, but it's not for a lack of effort."

He continued:

"It's one of those anomalies that I really can't explain, other than to say that we're not going to stop trying... We're gonna keep swinging and hopefully at one of these points, we're gonna hit the ball out of the park."

Bateman didn't appreciate the sentiment and asked DeCosta not to point fingers at Jackson and the rest of the wide receivers. He even added: "Tired of y'all lyin'" to make his point clear.

The Ravens haven't even secured Jackson's services long-term yet, but they might need to start scouting wide receivers a little better.

Brown, who left Baltimore, spoke up in defense of Bateman on Twitter. Bateman was clearly upset and Brown might have some experience in that arena, too.

The Ravens have given Lamar Jackson no help

Lamar Jackson, since taking over the Ravens offense, has had little to no help. While this isn't the be all end all metric, DeCosta has spent the least amount of money on offense over the past four seasons of any NFL team, per a recent report.

Part of this is because they haven't needed to. For instance, they don't have to pay an elite running back because Jackson creates an elite running game and former offensive coordinator Greg Roman turned has-beens into stars at running back.

The other part is that they haven't hit on draft picks. Like DeCosta said, they've tried to get help. They just haven't panned out and thus been worthy of new contracts.

With Jackson expected to break the bank, that likely won't change any time soon.
