Who knew that the absence of tomatoes is the secret ingredient to Tom Brady's weight and fitness?

Brady has always taken good care of his health in order to increase his playing time in the league. At the age of 45, he is the oldest player in the NFL, supporting arguments to adopt his diet.

Last year, he had the highest number of passing touchdowns, passing yards, and completions. His achievements were enough to make him finish second in voting for the MVP award. And, of course, the year before that, he won his record-extending seventh Super Bowl. One cannot reach this level of excellence at his age unless one takes very good care of one's health.

One of the reasons for his excellent health is that he avoids tomatoes. If you are wondering what personal enmity the GOAT has with tomatoes, let’s dispel any nefarious conspiracies. Much like many things Tom Brady does, this approach is also supremely methodical.

Tom Brady's weight and general health is attributed to him avoiding nightshades: a group of vegetables that include eggplants and tomatoes. Apparently, eating such vegetables leads to potential pH imbalances and inflammation. One must add a note here that it is not independently medically verified that this works and eggplants and tomatoes are indeed rich in vitamins and minerals.

Tom Brady's weight: A continuous endeavor

Tom Brady follows a strict diet that has seen him maintain his physical prowess at the top for so long. He follows a mainly vegan diet, consuming up to 80% vegan food. Other times, he eats meat-based products like lean meat and fish.

This helps him avoid negative issues with trans and saturated fats. It keeps Tom Brady's weight just right to play. He further consumes legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds that are rich in nutrients and fiber. Since he avoids meat most of the time, he gets his protein intake from protein shakes.

Much has been made about his declining ability on the field this season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-5 after Week 8 and in desperate need of new life. The offense is generally struggling and one-dimensional.

But if Tom Brady is struggling this season, it certainly does not seem to be because of his diet. Whatever else takes place around the world, dietary planning is one place he can claim to be totally flawless.
