In the upcoming NFL draft, the Chicago Bears will hold the first overall pick for the first time in 76 years. The Bears ended the season with a 3-14 record and were placed last in the NFC North and the league.

The Chicago Bears moved into the top spot in the 2023 NFL draft order after they lost the Week 18 game against the Minnesota Vikings 13-29. Since Week 10, the Houston Texans had been leading the way to land the No.1 overall pick with only one win in their first 14 games.

However, the Texans won their Week 16 and 18 games against the Tennessee Titans and Indianapolis Colts and finished second last with a 3-13-1 record. The Bears, on the other hand, started with a 3-4 record in their first seven games but ended up losing 10 back-to-back games, including six at home.

Now, with the first overall pick, the Bears will look for better success in the coming season. The franchise might look for another option in the quarterback position, as they don't consider Justin Fields as one for the long run. Also, for the Bears, there is a need to upgrade their defense and work on their offensive line and wide receiver positions.

However, Harmon never played with them as he pursued a career in radio and the movies. Later, Harmon also served in the military and, in 1946, made a comeback in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams for two seasons.

In 1947, the Bears selected Oklahoma A&M's Bob Fenimore as their first overall pick. Fenimore has only played one season in the NFL, appearing in only 10 games.
