Per reports, McCaffrey is out for San Francisco's Week 2 game after being placed on the team's injured reserve list. He is dealing with lingering calf and Achilles tendon injuries.

In McCaffrey's absence, Jordan Mason will likely get an extended run for the 49ers. Mason had 28 carries for 147 yards and a touchdown in San Francisco's 32-19 victory over the New York Jets in Week 1. The running back will have a bigger workload in the coming weeks.
