The NFL regular season is over, and it is time to separate the pretenders from the contenders. The best teams in both the NFC and AFC Conferences have qualified for the postseason, and at this stage, every point counts. Some preseason favorites, such as the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, and Green Bay Packers, have fallen by the wayside. Also, Aaron Rodgers has begun his annual "I Might Retire" and "I Might Not Retire" crusade, with Green Bay Packers fans being sent into an off-season frenzy. But all that is by the wayside, as NFL fans have one thing on their mind: who will win the Lombardi trophy in February? But before we get to the project, there's a question worth asking - Why is there no Thursday night football game in the NFL tonight? This scenario is because there isn't a Thursday Night Football game on January 12, 2023. The scheduled Thursday NFL games run through Week 17. This means the last TNF of the 2022 season was played on December 29, 2022.With the regular season ending, the rest of the games to be played are playoff games that usually air across CBS, NBC, FOX, ESPN, and ABC. As TNF streams on Amazon Prime as part of a league coverage deal for regular season games, Prime is not in the mix for postseason games. The last scheduled Thursday night game for this season was in week 17 of the regular season, and there is none tabbed until next season. As such, TNF enthusiasts must make do with playoff action for now. Also, if more is needed, they could watch some NFL-centric programs on cable TV or the streaming platform of their choice.
