Appearance

Latias Pokemon GO

Latias is a Pokemon who closely resembles a plane with her angular design and looks. In terms of color palette she is mostly two toned with red and white across her body except for a blue triangle on her chest and brown eyes. She has a long neck and short body but while Latias has two arms, she has no feet and moves around by simply floating which negates the use for legs.

Behavior

Latias are curious Pokemon at heart, being extremely intelligent themselves. Able to understand human speech, they also have the ability to refract light, which makes them look like anything, even another human. Although curious they are cautious and don’t make contact with humans or Pokemon unless it needs to. Groups of Latias can be found in herds near water.

Strengths and Weaknesses

With overall great stats, Latias more than deserves her title as a Legendary Pokemon. Having a dual typing of Dragon and Psychic, Latias excels in battles against Fighting, Poison, and other Dragon types. However, attacks from Bug, Dark, Ghost, Dragon, Fairy and Ice types can quickly whittle her health down even with excellent defense stats.

Mega Latias

Mega Latias

Of the few Pokemon that can Mega Evolve, Latias can, with the help of a Mega Stone, evolve into Mega Latias temporarily. In this form, Mega Latias’ already impressive stats are all boosted, except for Speed and HP. It means that a Mega Latias can hit harder and endure more until the end of the battle or they are knocked out.

Shiny Latias

Shiny Latias

Since Latias is a Legendary Pokemon, the odds of getting a Shiny Latias are even harder. The only real difference is that the red is replaced by yellow while the triangle and her eyes are both green. To get a Shiny Latias on your own, you’ll have to find one in the wild or hatch one from an egg. If that is not possible, then you’ll need to find someone willing to trade one.

Best moveset for Latias

Calm MindRoost
Stored PowerIce Beam

This moveset emphasizes buffing Latias to become an unstoppable force that’s hard to take down. Each cast of Calm Mind raises Latias’ Special Attack and Defence by one, at the cost of not attacking the enemy Pokemon, Roost heals 50% of Latias’ health and takes away her Flying typing until the end of the turn, useful if facing an opponent that has an advantage over Flying types. Stored Power gives 20 power to stat boosts which pairs perfectly with Calm Mind. Finally, Ice Beam is a hard hitting attack that has the chance to freeze opponents.

How to catch Latias in Pokemon Go?

As of the moment the only way to catch Latias in Pokemon go is to wait and see if a nearby raid features this Pokemon. In case it does, bring your strongest Pokemon and as much gold Razz Berries as you can because catching Latias is never guaranteed, even if you defeat her in the raid.
