Asuka, aka Kanako Urai, is a Japanese professional wrestler currently signed to WWE and performs on the RAW brand. Although Asuka began her career long back in 2004, she signed with WWE in 2015 as a development deal. Asuka is the first Japanese female wrestler to sign with the company in over 20 years. Before WWE, she worked in promotions such as JWP Joshi Puroresu, NEO Japan Ladies Pro-Wrestling, Pro Wrestling Wave, Reina Joshi Puroresu, Smash, and Wrestling New Classic and has won titles including JWP Openweight Championship, Smash Diva Championship twice, and Wave Tag Team Championship twice.

During her time in WWE, Asuka won the SmackDown Women's Championship once, the WWE Women's Championship three times, the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship four times, the NXT Women's Championship once, and the 2020 Women's Money in the Bank ladder match. Following her first RAW Women's Championship win, Asuka became the third Women's Triple Crown Champion and the second Women's Grand Slam Champion.
