As reported earlier by Sportskeeda's Gary Cassidy, Vince McMahon's mood has been described to be quite 'volatile' of late, and the WWE boss has been a tough man to please when it comes to the creative pitches.

However, McMahon also likes a few Superstars and their work in the company.

Dave Meltzer revealed in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there was a backstage meeting held on July 30th, which was the day of WWE's investment conference call.

The meeting was 'brutal' as Vince McMahon didn't approve anything. A follow-up meeting was organized the following day on July 31st, which reportedly went on for four grueling hours.

It was noted that Vince McMahon spoke for a long time and expressed his love for Bayley's work and the SmackDown Women's Champion's new persona.

Vince McMahon also said that he sees Bianca Belair and Peyton Royce as singles stars in the future. Here's what Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

There was a meeting during the day before the investment call on 7/30 described as brutal as Vince approved nothing. They had another meeting on 7/31 which lasted four hours. He did talk forever about how much he loves Bayley and her new persona and that he sees Peyton Royce and Bianca Belair as singles stars.

#4. Backstage news on Austin Theory's WWE status

Austin Theory, as revealed by Dave Meltzer a few days ago, is currently out of action due to an unannounced suspension.

WWE is yet to release a statement regarding Theory's status. The Superstar has also maintained his silence amidst all the uncertainty.

Tom Colohue revealed an update on the latest edition of the Dropkick DiSKussions podcast with host Korey Gunz.

Tom Colohue noted that WWE has not mentioned the Superstar's name on TV as the company is reportedly unsure whether Austin Theory would even have a job by the end of the ongoing situation surrounding him.

Austin Theory, however, could even be back on TV as early as two weeks from now. In such a scenario, everything could be forgotten instantly.

As things stand, however, Austin Theory is suspended, and we still don't know the reason behind WWE's decision.

"This is a situation that is very much personal to Austin Theory. There is a lot of moving parts to it. So I have to be careful with what I say. He has been gone a while with no mention because to put it simply; the WWE still aren't sure whether he will have a job by the end of it. However, it could be that he simply comes back, gets back on TV even as early as two weeks from now and it all be forgotten about. There are many possible outcomes; at the moment, he is suspended."

#3. Roman Reigns reportedly told Vince McMahon he wanted to work with two recently released WWE Superstars

Fightful recently caught up with AEW's FTR, and Sean Ross Sapp released a few excerpts from the interview with the former WWE Superstars in a Fightful Select exclusive.

It was revealed that many WWE Superstars pitched ideas to work with FTR, formerly known as The Revival before the team was released from the WWE.

Randy Orton's name has been discussed in the past. However, Roman Reigns, The Usos, The New Day, Shane McMahon, and Bray Wyatt also reportedly expressed their desire of working with The Revival to the WWE management.

Roman Reigns took it one step further as he went up to Vince McMahon and told the WWE boss that he wanted to work with Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, now known as Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler in AEW.

The AEW tag team revealed that their alliance with Randy Orton, collectively known as FTRKO, lasted as long as it did all because of Randy Orton.

After a while, Harwood and Wheeler realized that the partnership with Orton on TV wouldn't last long and the push would lead them nowhere in the company. A firm decision was then made to leave WWE.

The pitches of the WWE Superstars came with its positives and negatives, and it also included the former Tag Team Champions getting pulled from hot TV angles.

Thankfully for Harwood and Wheeler, they have impressed ever since making their AEW debuts, and the duo is expected to be a significant part of All Elite Wrestling's thriving tag team division in the future.

#2. Reported identity of the members of WWE's newest faction 'RETRIBUTION'

'RETRIBUTION' made a massive statement on the recent episode of SmackDown as the faction wreaked havoc at the Performance Center to end the show. There was a chainsaw, spray paint, unhinged attacks, and complete chaos all around.

So, who are the members? Tom Colohue provided a few updates regarding what to expect from the faction on the latest edition of the Dropkick DiSKussions podcast.

WWE does have a plan for the stable and the individuals who will be revealed as the members. Tom explained that the idea was to reportedly have the next set of NXT call-ups as part of the faction.

Dominik Dijakovic, Chelsea Green, and possibly Vanessa Borne, are some of the names that were being rumored.

WWE's social media team jumped the gun on the announcement, as revealed by Sean Ross Sapp in a Fightful Select report, following the leak of the news via Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet.

It's interesting to note that Dominik Dijakovic and Tommaso Ciampa's Twitter handles have been blanked out as of this writing and it could be a possible hint towards their involvement in the faction.

There are many members and the stable could comprise of many known talents from NXT.

Here's what Tom Colohue noted:

"The WWE do know. There is an actual plan for these particular individuals. The idea of a new faction was something that was written at the last minute. From what I can tell, this was essentially the NXT call-ups who were coming up soon, who were sitting by the sidelines waiting for the opportunity, for example, Dominik Dijakovic and Chelsea Green are people that have been mentioned, maybe Vanessa Borne as well. There is a plan, and they did have the people they wanted in those outfits, but it sure doesn't feel like it sometimes, does it? When you consider that's really all we got. To be fair, they didn't hype this one up initially. The news got out by a different wrestling journalist, and then they decided to hype it up in addition."

#1. Possible plans for Big E's singles run on WWE SmackDown

youtube-cover

Big E's singles run has gotten off to a promising start as The New Day member cut a charismatic backstage promo during his interview with Kayla Braxton on the latest SmackDown episode.

It's obvious that WWE is building up Big E for a title feud but which Champion would he target?

Dave Meltzer revealed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Big E's push has to lead to a title match. Meltzer revealed the possibility of Big E being saved up for a potential Universal Championship feud against Bray Wyatt.

However, there is also a chance that he gets involved in the Intercontinental title scene. A match against AJ Styles at SummerSlam could also be in the offing.

The Big E singles push has to lead to a title match in some form, and unless they are building him for Wyatt down the line, the other possibility is A.J. Styles, who has been winning his bouts clean.

What does Big E's solo push mean for The New Day? Don't expect The New Day to break up anytime soon as backstabbing is out of the question when it comes to the brotherhood between Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods.

Here's what Big E told Justin Barrasso:

"Our story is one of brotherhood. That's so different. Why can't you have three men, three Black men that really care about each other, that want to see each other succeed? It's not about stabbing each other in the back; it's about coming together for a common cause. Kofi said, 'When I became world champion, we all became world champion.' He didn't say it to set up a feud; he said it because he meant it."
