About Detroit Pistons Depth Chart

The Detroit Pistons are back again, a team with renewed spirit and promising young talent. After a few seasons of rebuilding, they are ready to take the next step under new head coach Monty Williams. The Detroit Pistons depth chart is headlined by third-year star Cade Cunningham at shooting guard. The number 1 pick of 2021 is one of the league's premier scorers.

Joining Cunningham in the starting backcourt is 2022 lottery pick Jaden Ivey at point guard. Ivey is an elite athlete who pressures the rim relentlessly and draws a ton of fouls. His speed and quickness fit him on both ends of the court.

Up front, Detroit has built an intriguing frontcourt rotation. Rookie Jalen Duren starts at center and has already emerged as one of the league's premier shot blockers and interior defenders. Power forward/center, Isaiah Stewart crashes the glass hard and finishes well around the basket. Recent addition Simone Fontecchio provides veteran experience at small forward.

The Pistons' bench is headlined by Veteran Evan Fournier. He provides scoring punch off the pine. Rookie guard Marcus Sasser runs the second unit and keeps the offense flowing with his passing. Malachi Flynn is another young roaster who plays as a point guard and will also get more minutes playing for Cade Cunningham coming off the bench.

Other key reserves include former lottery pick James Wiseman splitting backup center minutes with Duren, and Chimezie Metu providing energy and rebounding behind Stewart at power forward.

Detroit may not make much noise in the 2024 playoffs. However, the depth of the young rosters makes them a potential spoiler of the Eastern Conference. Moreover, the Pistons depth chart gives coach Williams an athletic, versatile group to mold into future contenders over the next few seasons as this nucleus gains experience.
