About Philadelphia 76ers Depth Chart

Led by the reigning 2023 MVP Joel Embiid, the Philadelphia 76ers enter the 2023-24 NBA season with high hopes. At the peak of his powers, Joel Embiid stands as the undisputed leader of the Philadelphia depth chart, poised to guide the team to success.

Joel Embiid commands the center position with finesse, showcasing some of the best footwork in the NBA. Embiid has the fluidity that allows him to maneuver effortlessly around the paint, and score at will near the rim. Embiid possesses a nice soft touch around the perimeter and excels at knocking down jumpers. His offensive IQ is outstanding and defensively, he presents a terrifying presence, making him a tough matchup for any opponent.

Surrounding Embiid in the frontcourt is the experienced power forward Tobias Harris, with much more crucial support coming from the rapidly improving Tyrese Maxey, who is set to enter his fourth season and is a strong contender for the Most Improved Player award. Maxey's explosive attacks to the rim and float game, coupled with Embiid's post-up dominance, make their pick-and-roll one of the most potent in the NBA.

In the backcourt, Tyrese Maxey receives support from the newly acquired Kyle Lowry, a seasoned veteran and 2019 champion with the Toronto Raptors under Coach Nick Nurse. Lowry's experience and leadership add depth to the team's guard rotation. At small forward, Kelly Oubre Jr. who was acquired in the free agency, brings two-way intensity and versatility to the team's offense as he is capable of making athletic dunks as well as knocking down the three ball.

Off the bench, the 76ers bring the point guard D'Antony Melton, a player with a deep bag and confidence to deliver in the clutch. Joining him is the sharpshooting Buddy Hield who was acquired to provide an offensive spark from the bench. Frenchman Nicolas Batum adds to the versatility and his playmaking ability as a do-it-all wing player. Finally, Paul Reed is an athletic big who provides backup for Embiid in the frontcourt.

Guiding the Philadelphia 76ers is Coach Nick Nurse, a proven championship-caliber coach who led the Toronto Raptors to victory in 2019. With Nurse at the helm, Sixers fans are hopeful that he will utilize the team's depth chart to perfection and lead Joel Embiid-led Philly squad to glory in the 2023-24 NBA season.
