Sammy Guevara (original name: Samuel Guevara) is at present performing in All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He is a member of the group “Jericho Appreciation Society” and is a three-time AEW TNT Champion. He is a two-time Dynamite Award winner and won the award for Breakout Star in the Male category in the same promotion. Sammy was associated with the AEW since its founding year 2019 and was a member of "The Inner Circle" which was the first stable created by Chris Jericho. He has appeared in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA). Sammy won the AAA Crusierweight title and AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion with his original wife Tay Melo.

Sammy was trained under WWE Hall of Famer Booker T and made his professional debut in Reality of Wrestling. He also worked in Impact wrestling in the United States and in DDT Pro Wrestling. He also holds titles like Adrenaline Pro Wrestling (APW) Gladiator Championship, Inspire Pro Pure Prestige Championship, Inspire Pro Junior Crown Championship, Total Championship Wrestling (TCW), Cruiserweight Championship, Bull of the Woods Championship, National Don’t H8 Ringmaster, WAR City Heavyweight Championship, and many more. Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked Sammy at 28th position among the top 500 wrestlers in 2022.

Sammy Guevara is 30 years old as of August 2023. He was born in Houston, Texas, United States on July 28, 1993 and brought up in Katy, Texas, US. Sammy. He has mixed ancestry as his father and mother are from Cuba and the United States respectively. His parents parted ways when Sammy was a young kid. Sammy first saw a professional wrestling match between Rey Mysterio and Booker T on SmackDown in his hometown in 2004 and from that point he made up his mind that he wanted to become a pro wrestler.

Professional Wrestling Career

Sammy Guevara made his major promotion debut at the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) in 2013. Three years later he participated in a tag team match at AAA with a fellow wrestler Tony Guevara. He first showed up for Impact Wrestling in its TV show Impact Xplosion in 2017. He also participated in the Super X Cup tournament in that promotion. He made his Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) debut in 2017 when he took part in the Battle of Los Angeles tournament, Bask In His Glory, and PWG World Championship. Sammy likewise appeared in Major League Wrestling (MLW) in 2017 and several times showed up on its TV show. He first appeared on Lucha Libre AAA World Wide in 2018.

Guevara signed with the newly established AEW in 2019. He teamed up with Chris Jericho, Santana and Ortiz, and Jake Hager to form a group named "The Inner Circle". He won the AEW TNT Title in 2021 after defeating Miro. He lost the title to Cody Rhodes which ended his reign of 87 days as a title holder. he won the interim TNT championship by beating Cody's half-brother Dustin. He then went on to beat Cody Rhodes again and unified the two belts which made him the undisputed TNT Title holder. He eventually lost the title to Scorpio Sky in 2022. He won the title back in the same year by beating the same opponent. This made Sammy a record-tying three-time TNT Champion. He is currently performing on AEW and AAA at the same time.
